PBA Showcase Classic Highlights Exciting Weekend of Baseball In Lethbridge

There is no shortage of baseball to watch in the City of Lethbridge over the weekend as the Prairie Baseball Academy is hosting their annual JV Prairie Showcase Classic from April 24-27th at Spitz Stadium, Lloyd Nolan Yard and Jets Stadium in Vauxhall.
13 teams from across Alberta, and one from Quebec will play in 29 games over the weekend to not only compete for a title for their teams but to also show off their individual skills for various college recruiters who will be in attendance over the weekend.
The Lethbridge Longhorns High School Academy and the Prairie Baseball Academy Jr. Varsity team are the local teams looking to upset the defending champion Vauxhall Jets this weekend. Games begin today at the various venues beginning at 9:00
To highlight the weekend will be a pair of PBA Sr. Varsity games being played at Spitz Stadium. The CCBC World Series defending champion University of Fraser Valley Cascades will square off with the PBA with games on Friday and Saturday beginning at 7:00 PM both nights. The matchup has the top two teams in CCBC conference play with UFV sporting a 13-3 record while PBA sits at 9-6. The two teams will finish off their four game set with a double header on Sunday at Lloyd Nolan Yard.
Also happening in Lethbridge over this late April weekend is the second half of the annual PBA Jr. Academy Ice Breaker Tournament. Teams in the 11U, 12U and 15U age groups are in Lethbridge this weekend to kick off their baseball seasons as well. All players and coaches in both the Ice Breaker Tournament and the Showcase Classic are admitted free to all of the Sr. Varsity games over the weekend at Spitz Stadium and Lloyd Nolan Yard.
The ATV's being raffled off for PBA's fundraiser are on display at Spitz Stadium and raffle tickets are available for purchase at the front gate. Be sure to enter for your chance to win and help support the Prairie Baseball Academy.
